Yes he was a retired polce sergeant. Im interested in how he started writing poetry a lot of the poems are in gaelic language. |

hi as he was born in sw scotland he would not have learnt gaelic in school there ,he must have learnt it while in argyllshire as a shepherd but there is a very big step from merely speaking it to writing it and then composing poetry maybe he went to night classes thru the police force just a thought |
