I am looking for Alexander Wood born 1888 Pencaitland Scotland married Margaret Black Smith born 1875 in Portobello 1908. Can anyone help please. Dianne

Hi Tanya,my grandfather was James Leishman Wood, he came from Portobello near Edinburgh, that was before his marriage, on his marriage certificate he was living in East Burnside Broxburn West Lothian, Scotland. James married Janet Naples from Ratho Mid Lothian, on the 28th August 1925
Laurance Wood was his father, he married Annie Leishman. that is where the Leishman came from in Jame's name.Laurance wood was born on the 25th January 1877 he was born at 0hr 15min am. in Cousland Parish of Crauston. his father was William Wood a Lime Stone Miner, he married Jane Hunter on the 22ed August 1865 in Bathgate West Lothian Scotland. I don't know well not to sure if it was Alexander who imagrated to Australia, but it may have been him.
I spoke to my aunty Nan recently and she told me my granmother Wood came from Portobello, my father's name is William Wood a Tailor to trade but now he has retired. I hope this information is of some use, Would you allow me to view your family tree, I have just started today so I do not have much of a tree, but i do have a lot of paperwork to help me. look forward to hearing from you soon
