Can find no birth record for her. However in the 1901 census there is an Alice Taylor that fits her age. It shows her as a boarder with a Alfred and Elizabeth Reader. She is with her brother and sister, Vera 9 and Charles 5. Charles born in Southampton but Alice and Vera in Australia. Where are her parents I wonder. The address is 65 North Front which is only a few minutes walk from where Alfred Wellman was on the 1901 census, 6 Clarence Street. If you bought her marriage cert to get the name of her father you could see if it matches the name of Charles father from his birth cert. But... there were 4 Charles Taylors born in Southampton 1895/6 |

My great Grandmother was Alice Janne TAYLOR born circa 1886 probably in Bishopstoke, Near Easteligh Hants. She married a Alfred James WELLMAN and I believe then (possibly?) married a James WALKER. She died in the mid 1970's at her home in Fairoak. |
