Hi Cathy

Would appreciate a look up please

Marriage Registers of St Mary le Bone, Middlesex

Marriage for a Robert NESBITT or NISBITT to a Sarah?
About 1734- as the youngest child I have found for them was christened in that Church in 1735.

Thank you

Thank you Cathy......that second one in 1797 would tie up nicely with 1st child Lucy, and a Hannah, so I think I could be on the right track now, now to track down the Baptisms for St George Hanover Square......looks like another trip to Westminster Archives.

Thanks again.

Hi Nicky

Don't be sorry...it's better to have all the details. These are the onlytwomarriages in St George Hanover Square and the first is probably way too early

1778 July 30 Thomas Bartlett and Ann Harrison

1797 May 6 Thomas Bartlett and Hannah Dunsbee

Hope this helps

Nickydownsouth Report 24 Aug 2008 19:05

Hi Cathy,

Me again, still on the search of my London rellies.

I am trying to find a Marriage for a Thomas Bartlettc 1798, working on that date because eldest child I know about is Lucy born c1799/1800, there are 3 more children I know of:

William b c1806/7
Henry b c1811
Ann b c1813........all of them in census put their place of birth as St Margarets/Westminster or Pimlico........ I have previously searched the registers of St Margarets and can find no marriage for Thomas or ANY baptisms of the children .

Yesterday went to Westminster Archives again and searched the registers of the other surrounding churches:
St John the Evangalist
St. Martins in the field
St james Picadilly.......no baptisms at any of them....no marriages, but only got as far as July 1798 for St Martin in the field marraiges and ran out of time.

The Bartlett family lived in Palace Street Westminster, and I have found a Hannah Bartlett from Palace Street, burial at St, Margarets in 1830, she was 55years old.

I know Thomas died in 1832, a widower aged 65 years, have seen his burial record as well.

I have found a marriage between Thomas Bartlett and Hannah Leeke on 5th Feb. 1792 at St Clement Danes, but not sure if this is my Thomas, or indeed if the Hannah death in 1830 was his wife, she may have been his sister, none of the 4 children named any of their daughters Hannah, I find this quite unusual if that was there mothers name.

So could you please check St George Hanover Square for a Thomas Bartlett marriage please, I think this is the only church left in the Westminster area., if there isn`t one, I think they must have landed in Palace Street by spaceship sometime in the early 1800s....!!!

sorry its a long story........

Nicky

Hi Cathy,
Just back from a 2-week shower(!). Thanks for digging out the other marriages. You've set me a task now to establish if Mary Goater is the same one who was christened at St.George's in 1806. Hopefully there might be a sighting in the 1841 census - there don't seem to have been many Lipops about!
Thanks again,
Phil

Hi Cathy, Thank you so much for taking the time to look again. He seems to be as elusive as a baby as he was as a father, so nothing has changed there. I shall tell me friend, and I'm sure she will send her thanks for your time too.

Take care and we'd like to wish you good luck in your own research.

Take Care, Lou

Hi Lou

I have been right through the BMD indexes 1868-1873 and there is nothing at all for a William Frederick Nelson Osborne under any variation of surname. I can only think his birth wasn't registered.

Hi Cathy, I wonder if you could look up this birth for me please, it's for my friend again and she's just received a cert which shows new light on her gt gt grandfathe'rs birth. You search for her a few days ago, but the cert says he was much older than she thought.

1870 - 1871 birth William Frederick Nelson Osborne. London.

thanks again, Lou

Hi margaret

I have checked the 1891 census and can find no Samuel Williment under any spelling in St Giles. I can not pick him up in any census. There is a death for a Samuel Williment in 1909 in Lambeth but after checking the census that Samuel was married to an Emma and was born in Norfolk.
There is a death for a Sarah A Williment in 1922 in Croydon. Is that your Sarah Williment?
I have no idea at all why he cannot be found.
