I have really hit a brick wall, with the Murray family, Port Glasgow, Scotland. My ancestor Ann McQuilkin (born in Ireland) married James Murray in Port Glasgow, Scotland in 1855. Every record from is marriage to children's birth certificates list him a seaman. I know they had at least four children James born March 26, 1862, twins Alexander and Catherine Ann born Aug. 22, 1865, Catherine died and another daughter was born Oct. 18, 1867 and also named Catherine Ann. Ann McQuilkin drowned in the River Clyde in 1884. But I can never find them on any census. I know from the children's birth certificates, marriage licenses and even death certificates that they lived at Blackclose ? Bay Street Port Glasgow. Any help or advice would be appreciated. |
