Can anyone give any information on George Scott - I have him on 1901 census as being 51 and born colchester - can't seem to find a record for him in GRO would Colchester be noted I have seen a few for Maldon but not sure if that would come under Colchester
Appreciate anyone's help on this

Do you mean his birth reg'n?

Birth reg'n wasn't compulsory until 1875

Colchester is a registration district in its own right

If you wish to find out about his parents, the marriage cert will have his father's name (if known)
