Relations or descendants of EDWARD THOMAS KENT of SUSSEX (Connections in HORSHAM & BRIGHTON) sought. Ted lost touch with ETHEL (? sister or cousin) who lived in SALISBURY, Wilts, as an adult, and with NELL and GEORGE (sibs or cousins), who lived in Horsham. There was a son & daughter by his marriage in 1918 (to name's u/k, possibly surname KING). They attended his funeral in 1970.

Ted had a second family of five sons with Doris CLOWES; family lived in HAMMERSMITH and EDGWARE. He worked for Browns in Watford in the 50s, and continued to support his estranged wife financially.

Doris CLOWES b. 1913 was orphaned in 1919, with a sister, name u/k; they were adopted or fostered in London, maybe by the HOLCOMBE family. Doris's parents were Thomas William Clowes & Martha REDFERN, of 12 HAMPSTEAD SQUARE, London, where they both worked in service. The family in Hampstead Sq included someone called VIOLET who kept in touch with Doris until at least 1929. Doris's best friend was called DAISY, who was living in the ISLE OF WIGHT in the 50s. Daisy's family lived in the old Railway Station house in Freshwater, IOW.

My husband is the second son of Doris & Ted. He is now trying to make sense of his parent's silence about the past, so any info about Ted and Doris would be much appreciated. We believe they lost touch with relations & friends because they were unable to marry, and wanted to keep this secret from their sons.
