hello Dawn,

This is rather a slow reply. Can't remember what happened but I was still very new to all this then and didn't understand how it worked.

I couldn't see any connection cos my father James was born in Liverpool as I was and his father was born in Birkenhead of Irish descent of course.

His mother was Irish, Anna Maria Maher.

Tell me a lot more about your Powers cos there might be a link, but not on what you have mentioned so far.

best wishes

Anne

hiya. I think we may be connected although i am only just researching my family tree. My grandfather was Edmund James Power, who had a brothers called, Thomas, and James and also had 5 sisters. My elderly aunt told me that her uncle James moved to liverpool. If you need anymore information on the power side then i maybe able to help .. Thanks Dawn

I am searching for the Buchanons of Liverpool who descended from Mary Power's daughter Margaret Widdows and James Buchanon.
They lived in Utting Avenue when we lived in Townsend View.
Liverpool 11.
My father James known as Jimmy used to visit and I often heard him refer to Tom Buchanon. I never met them to my knowledge.
I'd love to know more about the whole tribe!
Anne.

DOREEN THOMAS was born about 1929 so a bit older than me and she was my father's "cousin." We used to meet at Xmas time at 96 Tweed St. Liverpool, the home of Emma, James and Letitia Power, my grandfather's siblings.
My father James/Jimmy must have been second cousin as she seems to be the grandchild of Michael Power another sibling of my grandfather Thomas Power.
She must have had polio as a child cos she wore a leg iron when I knew her in late 30's and early 40's.
She kept in touch with my parents Jimmy and Dot as she called them, up to 1984. She had visits to Hong Kong and married a Chinese man in Liverpool seemingly called Ken and they had a son Robert.
She had a brother Billy born 1940 who disappeared in Australia about 1966.
Their mother may have been Letitia Josephine Power born 1907.
Any links with any of these people would be so important to me.
Thank you.
Anne.
