Am searching for any info/relations of Margaret Moran born ANN GREEN in Bellshill Hospital March 27 1946. Her
mother was possibly from Lancashire or possibly from
Norfolk. England. Margaret/Ann was left for
adoption, usual in those days, and was
adopted by a Mr & Mrs Brook. Lived in
Portsmouth until 4 (1950) then raised in London. She came to Australia in 1969
with her late husband Tom. Bellshill Ho
spital was on the outskirts of Glasgow,
Scotland at the time. I believe Ann Green`s mother was named Honora Green
and was born in the north of England circa1910 possibly in Lancashire or Cumbria.
Honora would have been 35 -36 years of age and unmarried. She gave up Ann/
Margaret for adoption . Ann was adopted from a babies home in Norfolk in 1948
at age of 18 months.
Margaret`s Mother was possibly a Honora Green born circa 1910 in Lancashire,
England. Obviously in her mid thirties Honora may have had a liasion with a man
who was married or possibly refused to marry her. and she had no recourse but
to adopt baby Margaret (Ann) out, due to the social climate of the 1940`s. There
must have been a lot of similar situations post-war.
