Mary Ann Turner - Ashburton 1829

I'm trying to find the father of Mary Ann Turner - I can only find her on 1861 - 1901 censuses after she was married to John Scullin. They give her place of birth as Ashburton Devon and year of birth c1829.
On an extracted record from IGI detailing her marriage in Renfrew, Scotland (1851) her father's name is given as Richard.
Problem is there are 2 Mary Ann Turners in the Ashburton area in 1841 and 1851 both with father's name Nicholas.
Anyone got any ideas where to go next?

Thanks very much, I'll follow that one up although Bideford is a fair way from Ashburton.
Did they travel that far at that time - do you think he was really an Ag Lab who called himself a farmer?

Those are the 2 Nicholas Turners that we found but hadn't considered the possibility that her brother's name may have entered. Another thought, maybe her father preferred to be known as Richard, we've got that in another line.
We're going to have to buy some credits for Scotlands People and see if the marriage cert gives any more information.
