My name is Christopher McDonald-Martin and I am looking for any relatives of John McDonald who was a shoe maker at 22 Chapel Street, Inverness in 1860/61 who was married to Mary (Maiden name Barron) they had Son's by the name of William and Hugh and Daughter's Catherine and Christina. In 1893 William married Jane Ann (Maiden name Grant) in Nairn. Jane's Father was Donald Grant her Mother was Jemima McDonald they married on the 13th June 1862 in Beauly, Inverness. Jane had a Son born on the 10th August 1894 his name was John Hugh McDonald his Father William McDonald was a railway engineer at that time, sadly Jane died on the 15th September 1894 aged 29 years at Surbiton House, Fairfield Lane, Inverness when my Father, John was only 6 weeks old apparently my Father was brought up by Aunts I am not sure on what side of the family. We know from Jane 's marriage certificate that there was a Tina Grant and Hugh Macdonald who witnessed the wedding on 20th April 1893 at the Royal Hotel, Nairn. |
