Desperately seeking any information on my greatgreatgrandfather Thomas Molloy born 1828, probably at Woolwich, Kent.

Apart from his marriage I haven't been able to find a trace of Thomas before the 1861 census.

Marriage Islington, Q3 1857, to Sophia Kington Culpin (born 1834, St Ives, Hunts).
According to marriage license he was born in Woolwich, Kent and his father was called Henry Molloy.

1861 census: surname spelled as Malloy & Thomas states he was born in Ireland (or was this a presumption from the census taker based on his surname? Irish descent seems obvious).
Living in Walmer, Kent with Sophia & their 2 children Charles Henry Molloy born 1858 in Medway or Meopham (1 of a twin of which the other half Thomas Saddler Molloy died in 1859) & my greatgrandmother Sophia Mildred Molloy born 1861 at Walmer, district of Eastry. They lived at the "National School" on Military Road and Thomas was "National Schoolmaster".

1871: surname spelled Molloy & states he was born in Kent. Living with Sophia, Charles & daughter Sophia (Mildred) at St James School, Medina Road, Whippingham, East Cowes, Isle of Wight.

Wife Sophia died 14/06/1871 at East Cowes of kidney failure.
Thomas probably died 18/06/1872, Stratford, West Ham, Essex, Greater London. But not 100% sure of this date.
Also not sure who took care of the children between 1871 & 1881 but probably some of Sophia's family members in London.

Have found a possible father for Thomas: Henry Molloy (rope maker) born about 1798 at Woolwich. Living at Rhode Street, Chatham, Woolwich, Kent during census 1841, 1851 & 1861. Does not show on 1871 census, so probably died between 1861 and 1871. Perhaps in Q1 1864 at Medway, Kent which would link him to where Thomas & Sophia probably lived in 1864.
Living with Henry Molloy during the 1841-1861 census returns is hìs wife Sophia (the Sophias never end). Place of birth for this Sophia differs between census returns, probably due to legibility of originals, and is either Crayford or Dartford both in Kent.
Sophia Molloy senior is living on her own in 1871. Either died in Medway Q4 1875 or lived as an inmate of "Woolwich Union Workhouse" in 1881.
Her maiden name might be Vint based on 1841 census when Sophia lives in Rhode street, Chatham, with husband Henry, a 5 year old girl named Sarah Nevoyd -?very hard to read- & 84 year old (yes..another one) Sophia Vint (so born abt 1757).
Also during the 1861 census Henry & Sophia have an elderly lady, Ann Vint also born about 1757, living with them. Maybe this was Sophia's mother?
Sophia Vint's maiden name might also be Hunt; marriage for a Henry Molloy to a Sophia Hunt, Holborn St Andrew, 1830.

Everything I have on Thomas Molloy or his family before his marriage in 1857 is what I have deduced from sources available online (I don't live in the UK) but I would love to know more on him & his relatives.
Where was Thomas between 1828 & 1857?
Who were his parents?
Did he have siblings?
Does any of this ring a bell for anyone on GenesReunited?
