My father who registered my birth 29-8-47 was Arthur John Davies. My mothers name Mary Elizabeth Davies. They were probably not married. I was born in Southoweram Halifax/Brighouse at Ivy House Cottage. On my birth certificate his occupation was jouryman joiner. On my baptism certificate at St.Stephens Parish Church Rotherham he is recorded as a maintenance fitter. I have no further information other than my mother´s maiden name was Guest and she came from Rotherham. Unusually there are two entries in the birth records for myself, the entry number is the same.Stephen Phillip Davies and Stephen Phillip Guest. I was baptised as Stephen Phillip Davies. If anyone can provide any information re Arthur John Davies It would be much appreciated |
