I am trying to extend my WILTON line back into the 1700s and wonder if any reader has any connection with the following:

My Grt. Gr/mother was JANE WILTON -- 1878 (Strand) - 1962 (Coulsdon,Surrey -- although lived mainly in Brixton.)

Her father was ROBERT WILTON --1846 (Strand) - 1912 (Lambeth).

His father was JOHN (possible middle name = BENTLEY.), WILTON - c1815 (?London) -- 1851 (Strand).

His father was JAMES WILTON. All I know of him is that he was probably alive in 1842 and his wife was possibly NAOMI.

Additional clues that may assist are:

* A common trade in this family was painter/decorator/paper stainer.

* Associated surnames = TIPPETT BODKIN HADDON BULL.

* Possible West Country connections -- unproven by me at present.
