Hi, Living close to and have friends in Llanwenarth, will ask as the area is a large goegraphical one but few housholds in the Citra one, (there are 2 Llanwenarths, Ultra and Citra), one has a church in Govilion and the the other at Lllanwenarth citra. All records are now held at Mon County Council. Both churches have graveyards.

please reply direct as the tread is easily lost inthe pages if you would lkeme to make eq's

thanks Denise. I am definitely looking at Llanwenarth, Monmouthshire. The family lived there on all census returns.

Hi,

Lllanarth is in Dyfed, in between Aberaeron and Cardigan.

Not sure what the county was called back then, it may have been Cardiganshire/Ceredigionshire.

Think this is the wrong area for your Jones'

thanks Ann, but I have no idea at the moment what her maiden name was. As I am looking for her death reg it will be under the name Jones. I can see why you are confused - I must have had a senior moment when I replied to Paula, especially as Llanarth & Llanwenarth are not the same place as far as I am aware.

Thank you Claire. Some of the 'coming soon' transcripts on that site do seem to have been quite a long time coming, but is a very useful site.

thanks Paula, it is a possibility for her birth.

I am trying to establish when she died or where she was buried so that I can narrow down the number of death certs I would have to buy to see who her husband was. I am guessing she lived in llanwenarth (Ultra/Citra) all her life

living in Llanwenarth Monmouthshire in 1851 census age 90 with son William and his wife Leanah (nee Price).

Died between 1851 & 1861.
I assume the registration district for the death is Abergavenny.

As there are 86 registered during that period is there anyone who can narrow it down for me please.
