Interested in Wright Family orginally from Grantham Lincs, on the
1901 census, John Wright born 1872, amd Sarah (nee Spouge) born 1878, 2 children are shown, Arthur and Grace, the family did move about the country quite alot, and went on to have a further 8 children, they are Nell, Frances, Emily,Jessie,John, Edward, George, and Wilfred. the family ended up in Radcliffe, Nr Bury. Lancashire, the last surviving Wright is Wilf (Derry) Wright, he was born in 1914, he married Emily Greenhalgh,any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Heather, Thankyou for your reply, the reason I am interested in the Wright family, is that they brought up my husbands father John Sidney Swift, he was born in Cork, in 1917, to a Frances Gertrude Swift, I know that Francis Gertrudes sister May married a George Wright in 1911, we are now thinking that John Sydney may have been brought up by his own relatatives somewhere down the line, and not just brought up by them as we thought, his mother was sent to the workhouse because she was epliptic
she died when he was about 13. I know the details of Arthur, Grace, Jessie,George and Wilf. but this George is obviously not the one married to May Swift. Sorry Frances Gertrude never married. shewas born in Warrington in 1898.

So, bear with me, basically you just want to know the origins of the John Wright born 1872 who you have found on the 1901? Or have I got that wrong? Have you found him on any earlier census? How do you know the wifes maiden name?

Sorry I know that, John Robert Wright was born in Grantham Lincs, and that he married Sarah Spouge, they are the parents of 10 children, 1 still living who I got that information from, and have verified, I have information on some of the children, but nothing on Nell, Sarah,Emily, John Edward or George, this is the family that took in John Sydney, when his mother was institutionalised, but through FRU, I have found that a George Wright married May Swift in 1911, May was the sister of John Sydneys mother, Frances Gertrude Swift, so it is the Swift/Wright connection I am interested in, I am sorry if I didn't make things clear, I hope have now, Thankyou Anne.

Sorry I forgot to say, May Swift was born in Warrington in 1889 ? but not sure where George came from

Thankyou I will do that as I have got the the date of their marriage, my husband has heard of Stennett Wright, I will ask his Uncle Bill, think it may have been his cousin, he has still got a good memory even though he is 93!, Unfortunately John's Dad, (John Sydney) died in 96, but he never spoke about his Mother. May I just ask you how you found out about those other Wrights, Stennett etc, I would not have known where to look, I have done alot on my own family, but I have got certificates, photo's etc, and an Aunt who has been ace.
