Canadian Martin's

Simon, unfortunately it looks like Martin is a fairly common name. You could start by looking for him on the 1911 (or earlier) Canadian census:

(You can view the actual images.)

Did William have a middle name and do you know his occupation, please? Also, would you happen to know his exact birthdate?

He may have attestation papers, which would give you the province in which he lived.

Simon Report 22 Jul 2008 20:29

My paternal grandmother, Jessie, married Tom Martin b1905. Tom had a brother, George L, b1900 in Deptford. They are the children of Joseph b1875 and Dorothea (nee Hills-Long) b1879 in Aldgate. Joseph had 12 siblings, James, Samuel, Albert, Lucretia, Henry, William, Elizabeth, Charles, Thomas, Walter, Rose, and Richard.
William b1872 emigrated to Canada. I would like to find out more about what happend to him and his family, if he had 1, in Canada.
