does anyone in merthyr cynog have any information on phoebe williams born 1-8-1841.
her parents were rees and margaret williams.
she married jonathan parry williams--common name --in1861 and lived at 8 sychnant merthyr cynog up untill 1881 census but died before 1891 census,of breast cancer.
her uncle was william williams esquire of 33 glangwessin abergwessin in 1861 census.
if anyone has access to any details of her death date and place i would be gratefull as i could travell to see her grave and find out about her familly .
she was my greatgrandmother.

I cannot find a relevant death in all of the surrounding Breconshire Districts. Is it possible she travelled to somewhere other than her home area when sshe took ill?

This is the nearest one going on name and place, but the age is wrong

there is a web site about merthyr cynog
also you could try writing to the
representative body of the church in wales
39 cathedral road cardiff cf11 9xf for any historic ref to st cynogs merthyr cynog breckonshire , burials etc. also the old vicarage is now a bread shop phon 01874 690378 she may be able to tell you if theres a new vicarage if so you could contact the vicar there and ask him to look at the parish records for you . ann

Just re-read your kind responce,and it must be my g.grandmothers death.

what threw me was the age 68, it was in fact 48 as she was born 1-6-1841, and you have her death as june 1889.

that would tie in with my grandad saying he was left without his mum at a young age. he was william garibaldi williams,and his eldest sister kate took him in,but gave him a hard life!!

My wish is to find out who her father was as she was born before marriage but i have hit a brick wall,its driving me mad!!

anyhow i will send for her death certificate and perhaps will try to find her grave when i can travel back to Wales,if i can find what churchyard she was buried in.
