Does his death cert not give you any clues - who registered the death - widow, son, daughter ??

It may mean then working through all the marriage listings and sending off for the likely ones ...

Long haul and might work out expensive too.

Check out Kent's website - www.kent.gov.uk - registration service. They have some info online so that might help get you beyond where FreeBMD stops - I'm not sure what year Kent's info goes up to though.

If you don't know the wife's name then how will you know if you have the right certificate anyway? Even if you did find a marriage certificate for a Glyn Thomas you would need to send off for the cert to find out his age. But if you know nothing else about him what can you use to check it? Do you know his father's name?

It may mean slogging through all the marriages, from when he was about 19 until you find him..if you get a reference you will find the woman's maiden name alongside.

The marriage indices are at local Record Offices OR you will need to pay to view, probably via ancestry.co.uk
