Find Ancestors

I am looking for my great grand father John Hall Born 1831 in Wednesbury.
I can't find him on the 1841/1851 census,I have his marriage
certificate married to Catherine Pheasant (b)1832 both resident in
Erdington at time of marriage. It says his father was also John Hall.
How do I find John Hall's birth certificate (1831) When I don't Know
his birthdate, it is such a common name.
I would very greatful for any help anyone could give, as the name
John Hall is driving me up the wall.

You will not find a birth cert for him as registration began in 1837.

Have you looked on IGI - family search for a possible baptism.

John Hall 1831 was a Iron pudler and his father was
a miner as stated on the certificate.
Only his children and his inlaws appear on any census none of his blood relations.
I did find a John Hall on the igi index I can only assume it is him! I shall have to get His Birth certificate and hope he Has right parents.
