I'm trying to find information in relation to my great grandmother, Elizabeth Moore, she was born as I was told in Athboy, Co. Meath c1860 but on her marriage certificate, in 1886 it stated her father's residence as Abbeyleix, Co. Laois. Elizabeth was a Protestant, I also unsure of her exact date of birth.

I know that she had a sister called Mary, a National School Teacher who moved to Killlenaule, Co. Tipperary and married a Mr Smith.

Elizabeth could have had more siblings but I don't know.

After converting to Catholicism, she married my great grandfather Edmund Hall [b1859-1927 a farmer from Co. Tipperary] in 1886, in Lismore, Co. Waterford. They lived in Killenaule, Co. Tipperary were they had 11 children.

All I know about Elizabeth as that she was a shirtmaker and in 1901 became a certified midwife and that her father was Robert Moore, a shop keeper who lived in Abbeyleix, Co. Laois. She died in 1953 at the grand old age of 93. I would be grateful for any information on Elizabeth in regards to her family on her mother or father's side. It has been passed down through the generations that Elizabeth has always stated that she was related to Thomas Moore the famous poet.

There are four on www.familysearch.org with a birth date 1860 +/- 5 years all have fathers Robert Moore

Hi Paula,
Thanks so much for your help.
As I don't have her mother's name, how can I be sure that I do have the right Elizabeth Moore, I've checked it out to see if any of the four Elizabeth's you gave me had the same parents for Elizabeth's sibling Mary, cannot find it at all. I have a feeling that Elizabeth's sister Mary (born c.1857?) is older than her, because Elizabeth moved down to Tipperary after Mary established herself there as a school teacher.
I am so grateful for your help as I was really stuck without knowing what the next stage is, you have given me the lead to moved onto the next stage.
