Charles Sydney Clark 1870

I am trying to find information on Charles Sydney Clark born Ware, Herts Apr/May/June 1870 married Alice Taylor born Lincs 1872
Possible childred Alice Louisa born Lincs 1899
Charles S born Lincs 1896
George Henry born Louth 1916

Does anyone have any information of either Charles or Alice it would be appreciated I possibly have father for Charles as John and mother as Mary but not 100% sure

There are 2 burials in Scartho Road Cemetery Grimsby....
The ages seem to tie in with yours



Charles Sidney Clark age 46 died 3rd April 1942
Reg Entry 12/48585.


Charles Sidney Clark age 81 died 19th December 1951
Reg Entry 14/58354

Hi cagsie

I have my grandads birth certificate which says
George Henry Clark born 16th Aug 1916
Mother Alice Clark formerly Taylor
Father Charles Clark retired Coal Merchant
28 Eastfield Road, Louth

I think I have found a marriage for them
West Ham July/Aug/Sept 1884
Also a death for Alice 7a 618 Oct/Nov/Dec 1923
which ties in with what my grandad said about his mum dying when he was young

I also found in the 1871 Census
Head - John Clark 1839 Epping Green
Wife - Mary 1847 Ramsbury, Wiltshire
Daur - Mary Aged 3 Bayford, Herts
Son - Charles Aged 2 Ware, Herts
Daur - Annie 10 months Broxbourne, Herts

So I think Im on the right track but not sure

I have the burial cd for Grimsby,and found the info on there.

Do you think they are yours?

Hi Sheila

Yes it looks like they are on the 1871 Census it shows me Charles S Clark Head aged 31 born Herts Ware and Chas S Clark aged 5 born Lincs Grimsby so the dates are spot on I have matched up Charles S aged 31 with your death on the records here but still looking at his son.
I think they are my great grandad and his son (my grandad's brother but unfortunately his mum died when he was 7 and from what we can remember he didnt really know his family too well think he was fostered out not sure.
Thanks again for your help also if Im not being cheeky could you check Alice Clark I have her as dying in Louth in 1923 Oct/Nov/Dec 1/4 not sure if that still comes under Grimsby.

Sorry Kim, the disc only covers Grimsby
1889 to the 1960's
