William Henry Jones my Grand father was in the Kings Shropshire Light Infantry based at Shrewsbury and then posted to Ireland around 1918, he was a member of the police force in Hereford around 1940 and married to Amelia Beatrice Clara Beavan in Kensington London in 1915 and his Father was called Thomas. Apart from this he is still a mystery. How would I go about finding his place of birth and birthday?
Any help tips would be appreciated.

Do you know when he died - his death cert. should give his age or dob.

On reflection this can't be him- if he was in the police force in the 1940's he would be too old.
