Find Ancestors

An update for you, ive spoken to the register office in harverfordwest who confirmed David Thomas was born in 1856 in Nevern. Son of Thomas and Margaret. Have found thomas and margaret on the 1841 cenus living in manordeifi in wales, which is where the family lived for quite a while. it says on the census that Thomas Thomas was not born in Wales. im guessing perhaps the wedding certificate would have place of birth?

Excellent, well done. im guessing Davids age could have been wrong on the 1901 census and it could well be the same one, born 1853 and son of Thomas and Margaret ( i knew there would be a Thomas Thomas in the tree somewhere!)

You won't know when they married until you get a cert

You could have found the same info as I did..........especially as you knew the maiden name!!!!!!

That would put him at 1853, i guess the year of birth could be different. will need to look into it further. thanks for help.

i know her maiden name was Davies. but i dont know what year they married.

A long way round.....but you could get a child's birth cert......to find out Elizabeth's maiden name.........then the marriage cert, for his father's details.

many thanks for your help. im pretty sure its a different david (sadly both david and thomas are very common names) im 99% sure my david thomas was born in 1856, and the info you kindly found is 1854. i will look into it further though just incase.

sadly i do not have the marriage certificate, nor been able to find a copy on the net.

I am trying to trace my family and have got stuck at my Great Great Grandfather. His name was David Thomas and he was born in 1856 in Nevern, Pembrokeshire. He married Elizabeth Davies. in 1901 he was living in Tycoch, Manordeifi with 6 children, including John (my great grandfather). I can not find any other mention of him anywhere, or his parents names etc. any help would be greatly recieved.
