Trying desperately to find info on my Grandad (Douglas Lister Robertson - born approx 1900-1915 - I think in London area - not sure - worked for Wall's, I think he lived around Harrow area when my dad and uncle where growing up (John Charles and Brian) their mother died when they where quite young - not sure of name - but Elizabeth rings a bell!!! There is also recolection of a sister of my Grandad (Mary - I think? who lived in Scotland) , was told many years ago that family home was on West Coast of Scotland, and strong links to Edinburgh.Info on my Gt Grandparents etc would also be fantastic too!!
Very sketchy info - memories of my Grandad having travelled in his early life - India and Africa being two places - not sure if they where war/service linked? His later life was spent enjoying the sunshine in Torremolinos, Spain. Unfortunately have lost touch with Robertson side and would dearly love my history of my family - have been told we are related to Lord Joseph Lister - born 5th April 1827- 10th Feb 1912- would be fantastic if I could take family history that far back - a huge thank you to anyone who is willing to spare their time for me, I am so grateful.

Look forward to hearing from all you professionals - I haven't got a clue!!! -Yet!!!

Douglas LIster Robertson
Died approx 1991-1995 (passed away in Torremolinos,Spain), but held wills etc in UK - sorry for confusion (my son was about 1 1/2 when he met his Gt G/dad)

My fathers details are as follows - if this might help?
John Charles Robertson Born: 8th May 1943

Uncle is Brian (Douglas - I think! or Lister?) Robertson - about 2-5yrs older than my dad.

John married Ann Gordon (my mum)

Brian married Angela (from Yorkshire), lived in Porthcurno, Cornwall during 1970's. Brian has since moved to Bolivia, Sth America.

Don't know if any of this is any more use?

Thank you

Your father's birth cert should show mother's maiden name. That will help in tracking down your grandparents' marriage. From that you should have a clearer idea of when they were born and finding the birth certs will be easier.
