Hi Maureen, You might like to know that the Banstead History Research Group has just published (Dec 2010) Beechholme - A Children's Village which covers the history of the school. Just search for 'BHRG' to find their website.

My 3 half brothers William Cooper born 12/02/1937 Manchester
James Cooper " 12/04/1939 Manchester
Norman Cooper " 12/04/1940 Manchester

Fathers name William Cooper 1917-01/12/1940 Driver in Lancashire
fusilliers Mother Joyce or Ann Wakefield 21/04/1917-08/05/2007
She went back to Hammersmith London in 1940 and the 3 boys were put into Beecholme Childrens Home Banstead in March 1945
I met Norman,he was 15 he came to live with us as the Home could no longer keep him after aged 15 he stayed over a year then
left not seen or heard from him since.Please if any one knows of them or their families please get in touch,i would really love to know them
