Am wondering if anyone could help me.

my Great Grandfather was i believe born Harry Dale in 1880 in western Australia. he came over to britain with the armed forces and met my great grandmother. they got married and had two children Daffney Dale and David James Dale. they later devorced and he went back to Australia and remarried and had another family believed to be the Dale Robertsons, they contacted my grandfather when i was a baby but he wasn't very interested. i would love to know how to confirm any of the information about the second family and perhaps trace them.
could anyone help me please i don't know where to start.

The only marriage in W.A. for a harry DALE was in 1933 to a MAYNE, Ellen D.

So he must have settled in another state upon his return.

The only Dale -Robertson marriage that I could find in NSW was for a John.

Do you know when Daffney and David were born ?
Their birth dates would give some indication of when to look for the marriage .

Have just checked the WW1 roll for "Harry Dale'
There were 2 .
1 from NSW who was killer in Action 30 March 1918
& 1 who was from S.A. and discharged on 7 Feb 1916
Also checked a Henry Francis.. from Victoria
plus checked a Horace & a Harold, none were from W.A.

You really need to get Daffney or Davids birth certificate to see exactly who their father was.

have found further information to suggest i'm looking for the one discharged on 7th February 1916.
my Grandfather is not very interested and Great Aunt Daffney is dead.
is there any way in which to find out when he died as neither of them had contact with him at that time.

Even though your Grandfather is not interested, could you buy his birth certificate to fid out exactly what his fathers name was..

I do not know how to find out when he died. The S.A. records are not accessable past 1915.

This is the info about the Harry Dale who was discharged in 1916.
As you can see he has middle names which you need to check against your grandfathers birth info.

however i was wondering if you could tell me how to find out where he died as this seems like a real sticky point -

the W.A mistake seems to have been explained.
this seems to narrow down the search area if Isidore stayed put.

In 1919, Isidore Claire Robertson (nee Dale) gave birth to her second daughter, Isadore Marguerite, at Henley Beach, which is a suburb of Adelaide, S.A.
South Australia is one of the hardest places to get info about.
