i am looking for my grandfathers dad. my grandads name is james wright and he was born 4th april 1901 in walsall. his mother on his birth certificate is ann wright, but no name for the father or occupation. i have my grandads marriage to rachel peach born in abergavenny 11th march 1906, their marriage was 21st february 1927in walsall. on the marriage cert it states james's father as a james wright (deceased)and he was a railway labourer. ann wright later went on to marry a harry russon, which i think was in the first quarter of 1914 in walsall. ann russon died on 16th november 1959 at 56 shakespeare crescent, walsall. no one in the family seems to know anything about this james wright (deceased) when my grandad was born he lived at 4 court shortacre street, walsall. i have tried family and records and coming up with nothing at all. please can u help me in any way at all as my dad is driving me mad!!!!!!!!

Chances are, his father was a figment of his imagination.

what was his mothers status when she married in 1914 to harry Russon?? Widow or spinster?

Hi I have looked at 4 court Short Acre Street on the 1901 census and there was no one called Wright or Annie? living there.

If James was born there they must have moved or were somewhere else on Census night.

It;s possible she did not marry James ,Maybe he was a cousin and it was frowned on
