Find Ancestors

Help needed to find out about William and his wife Mary.

Here is what we know

1901 Wales Census William was living in Pontypool aged 50 with wife Mary and children including Rose. The census states that William was born in Evesham, Worcs and that Mary was born 1856c Wolverhampton Staffs.

1891 England Census William appears to be living in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. William is aged 38 stated born in Evesham Worcs. Living with children John, and Rosetta. There is a Mary Agnes Wood, her age appears to be 10 and it states was born in Banbury Oxon. Not sure if this was a daughter or if this is the wife with incorrect details.

Need to know.....

1. Unable to find William's birth cert
2. Unable to find Mary Agnes Wood nee Davies and William Wood marriage cert, however Mary Agnes Wood remarried in 1929 and her fathers name is listed as Alfred Davies.
3. Unable to locate William Wood or Mary on 1881 census.

thank you choirman - possibly but my friend tells me that when Mary remarried, her father was Alfred Davies, so her maiden name must have been Davies also.

my friend is going to check out those possible births. Its so much easier when researching for yourself isnt it? (this is for a friend)

David - I wondered that too about the missing wife, so I advised my friend to check for her in nearby houses, or with relatives if he can find them.

Im sorry, I dont understand the connection with Francis Wood...

Ok, that is definitely the correct family. But we cannot find them on the 1881 census to corroborate the details on the other two.
