thank you choirman - possibly but my friend tells me that when Mary remarried, her father was Alfred Davies, so her maiden name must have been Davies also. |

David - I wondered that too about the missing wife, so I advised my friend to check for her in nearby houses, or with relatives if he can find them. |

Ok, that is definitely the correct family. But we cannot find them on the 1881 census to corroborate the details on the other two. |
