I'm interested in making contact with any Harris' in Yorkshire particularly Pontefract/Hemsworth areas who may have connections to Madeley and surrounding villages in Shropshire. Particularly those who descend from people born in the late 1800's and early 1900's.

Any info would be appreciated and in the strictest of confidence.

Hi Sharon, my Grandmothers ancestors were all born and bred in Dawley/Madeley area of Shropshire. My great great grandmother was born around 1858, Emma Harris, she married William Walker and they had (I think) 6 children:-
George
Jane
William
Annie
Lily
Richard
all born late 1800's/early 1900's.
Annie was my gt grandma, moved to Manchester around 1916. Emma's mum was Mary Harris (nee Reeves) born approx 1818.
Hope you can confirm the connection!
Regards, Susan.
