Well, the Leslie born 1920 is in the correct area but he died. Perhaps your grandmother had 2 Leslies.

I have a photo of him in uniform.

Then that birth listed isn't your Leslie, because the are no other births to match that death.

How do you know he was alive in WW2? You said all you had was the birth.

Leslie Ewin was in the army during WW2 as a desert rat so the death that was posted cannot be him.

Finding a death ref and getting the cert might prove fruitful, IF his wife was the informant then at least you know her christian name. If you have trawled for a marriage and have several possibles you might just find the correct one.

If the informant is a child then you have another name to look for and seeing as it is a post 1911 birth then the mmn will appear in the index. Of course all that will only work if he has died. It is quite possible he may still be alive if he were born in the 1920's.

Yes unfortunately thats all I have on him. Would it be easier to look for a death for him?

The search would involve looking at every image for every qtr form 1936 onwards....and as you don't seem to know IF he married, it would be a mammoth undertaking for anyone not connected.
