Trying to find Eleanor Bell's family

I'm trying to trace the family of my g grandmother Eleanor Bell christened 07.12.1828 Lambourn, Berkshire, parents William Bell and Martha.

When and where were William and Martha married, when and where were they born and were there any children other than Eleanor?

Eleanor married Robert Thomas Adams from Leckhampstead, Berkshire in 1852 and their children were born in the Lambourn, Boxford, Leckhampstead area.

I have tried IGI and it's too early for free bmd. Can anyone help please.

Thanks for that information. I tried IGI but nothing came up. I thought Eleanor couldn't be an only child.

Now need to find out where their parents were married etc.

I wonder if Martha Boten is a grandparent and James is an uncle?

Thankyou Helen for that information. It sounds as if you might be right Selena about the Boten relationship - Martha being a family name. Either William and Martha have died or maybe Elizabeth and Eleanor are just visiting? Sister Martha would have been about 17 so may have been away working or married.

I can't seem to find any mention of Martha or James Boten anywhere, so unable to find a family connection to Elizabeth and Eleanor Bell.

Boten might be a mistranscription of Botting or Botten. There are lots of Bottings in the Sussex area.
