Find Ancestors

Hi, can anyone help with a marriage of John Robinson to an Eliza Rose, i'm not sure if her surname is Rose, this could be a middle name, they wed in Bushey Hertfordshire in 1825, i have John's parents, but i need a certificate to find Eliza's. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi Ericthered, John and Eliza were both born 1811 in Rickmansworth Hertfordshire, i've tried many sites but cannot find any info on Eliza.

Have you found them on the 1841 census...when was their first child born ?

Did they have children ? If so then a birth registration after 1837 would give both parent's names.

Hi Nerine, thanks for replying, yes i made a mistake on their birth dates, they should be William 1807 and Eliza 1806. Dealie

Thanks Pam, i have since found them on the 1851 census living in the parish of Rickmansworth, Watford Hertfordshire with their 5 children, but still haven't found anything else about Eliza's background.

If you get a birth cert of one of the children born after 1837 you will get mothers maiden name

Thanks Ericthered, i also had this info and then found what i think is them again in the 1851 census but the date of birth for William and Eliza are shown as 1807 and 1806 also Challis is now Charles which could have been a mistake, what do you think?

Ages rounded in 1841 for those over 15 in 1851 so not always correct.
Same occupation for William Bricklayer. Challis is probably Charles although the age is out

So....the husband is definitely William? Where does John come from?

Ages for over-15's were rounded down to nearest '5' on 1841 census..............

Thanks to everyone for your help and staying up with me, sorry i'm slow replying but trying to check all this info at the same time, i'm a bit confused Melanie, which Rose family are mine,the 1808 Eliza fits the age on the 1851 census although the place of birth is Rickmansworth, the marriage is the same as the one i have.

Hi Melanie, i'm not sure if the child born in 1838 was her first child, i think i found them in the 1851 census it may be possible older children may not be living at home. My grandfather was William Allwright Robinson and from his birth certificate i got Thomas born Rickmansworth Herts abt 1839/40, i found what i think is his birth registered in a parish record in Watford Herts which gave John Robinson and Elizabeth Jeffreys as parents. I could be wrong.

Hi Melanie, sorry just logged in to get your message, not sure about this info, my william Allwright's birth cert, gave his parents as Thomas Robinson born 1839 and Barbara Eliza Elgar born 1853. Thomas was born in rickmansworth Herts, Barbara was born in Ashford Kent,William was born in Bermondsey London. I do have a William born in 1807 as Thomas's father from rickmansworth, i did think perhaps Thomas and William could be siblings because of the unusual name of Allwright but i have the parents names as John born 1791 and Elizabeth Jeffreys born 1792 both from ware Herts. But again this could be wrong. Thanks for your help thus far. Regards dealie.
