My aunt, Mary Lewis, gave birth to a child out of wedlock, some time during the early 1920's. Is there anyone out there looking for her relatives?
Mary lived in the Gorse Hill/Stretford area of Manchester but went away for the birth, possibly to Cheshire or Cumberland. This is all the information I have, but I could fill in some family details if this rings a bell with anyone.

There is this birth which is a possible (the only one in Cumberland between 1920 and 1925 where the child's name and mother's maiden name is Lewis:-

Births Jun 1922
Lewis Mary E Lewis Bootle 10b 1373

However there are quite a few births in Cheshire in the same timeframe.

If you look on FreeBMD you will find them.

Thank you for that. Bootle Cumberland is certainly the area of that county I would have expected.
I'll do as you suggest.
