Albert Cook and Jesse Cook

Hi, I'm trying to trace anyone connected with my father's family as we have virtually no information. His father Albert Cook was a baker and we were told he came from Whipsnade. In fact I've found he came from Kensworth, the next village between Whipsnade and Luton. He was born in 1848 and was first married to Sarah Ann and living with her in Luton in the 1901 census, when she was 54. By 1911 Sarah had presumably died and he had married Alice Naomi Parks, my grandmother, and they were living in Seaside, Eastbourne. My aunt Ivy Christine was born in April 1912 and my dad was born in 1917. Albert's parents appear to be Jesse Cook, born Kensworth 1821/2, agricultural labourer, and Phoebe Holland, born Kensworth 1817, a straw plaiter. I've found her parents but can't find any more about Jesse. Can anyone help? And does anyone know if Albert and Sarah Ann had any children?
cheers, Linda

Many thanks to both. From the ages it must be one of the two Sarah's who died in 1902 aged 56, so when I have a chance to get to a record office I'll check them out.
cheers, Linda

That's brilliant - many thanks to both of you. I wonder if Albert was taken on as an apprentice by the Puddepphotts - what a wonderful name! There doesn't appear to be a Mr Puddepphott, so maybe Albert was being trained to take over the business. I wonder if they were relations or just a business arrangement. And thanks for confirming Daniel as Jesse's father - I had found the name but wasn't sure if they were connected or not. So lots more to add to my tree - though something has gone wrong with it on my father's side and his grandparents are somehow shown as his parents! haven't yet found out how to correct it - might have to delete them all and start again!
cheers, Linda
