you really do need to get his marriage certificate ..... otherwise you're fishing in the dark, and making assumptions.



and could spend months (and maybe much money) going after the wrong guy

Didnt know he was married to my husbands grandmother untill we found her death cert stating his name as she was married before to the real grandfather.(if that makes sense) Have found the marriage cert on freebmd now so can send for it to ake sure.. Thankyou all so much for your help..

Ann is right--you do need his marriage cert --to verify fathers name and occupation .

Have just been taking that census in and think it could be him as have some old bills from Bury st Edmunds in with photographs but never gave any thought that he came from there as born in London.
My husband taking a good look at that now!!

But just be wary of that birth

PS...Have just checked cos on the 1901 he was show as Frederick and the good news is there are 2 births to cover that one

is it not this one (if you got his birth yr from the census it could have also been late 1861)

Can anyone help to find the family of Frank Watson born 1862 Hoxton Middx. Cannot find his birth on freebmd .. 1901 census he was a carpet planner lodging in Tottenham and eventually married head of house who was my husbands grandmother but have no idea of his background! Would be very grateful of any help ..
