Hi

I am trying to find details about a long-lost great uncle. He was my maternal grandfather's younger brother. His name was ERNEST HUGH TURNER. He was born on the 26th February 1896 to Alfred and Sarah Turner (nee Kimber).

Unfortunately, he isn't with his mother in the 1901 census as he is (I think) listed as a visitor with a teacher (Elizabeth (Lizzie) Ford) and two market gardners. I don't know their exact relationship.

I found two entries for marriages for an Ernest H Turner (in 1912 and 1927) to a LOUISA LILY RELF and to a FLORENCE A PINK.

A daughter and a son were born to Ernest H and Louisa L Turner (nee Relf) in 1913 and 1926 (GLADYS M M and DENNIS W).

If ANYBODY can help, I would be really grateful.

Not sure what it is you are looking for. have you got the marriage certs to confirm it is the right Ernest.
However mathematically cant see he would marry in 1912 if he was born in 1896

Researching:
Surname Fahse. Germany. Essex .South East London My avatar is one of our wedding photos of 1957

He could, theoretically, have married in 1912 if his wife was pregnant and it was a shotgun wedding. However, I think that it is unlikely that he married at 16.

The only way to find out if any of the marriages is 'your' Ernest is to order the cert(s) quoting father's name as a checking point.

And, Nerine, sterling work......you deserve a pat on the back for putting in so much effort............
