If she married, buy her marriage cert - using freebmd.org you can find the ref which you need to buy the cert for £7 online at GRO. The cert will give her fathers name and occupation and other clues to help you find her in the census.

There are a couple of Nellie Roberts' which is the alternate spelling of Ellen,given as born in Tipton in the 1901 Census.Tipton is very close to Bilston.

Yes.......too late for 1891 census. (5th April)

If you can't find her on a census, the birth cert's your only real option................

How is she connected to you? Where did you learn her birth month and place of birth?

Can you trace her via some other route?

I am trying to find the parents of Ellen Roberts who was born in Bilston in June1891.I dont know if this would be too late for the 1891 census.I cannot find her either on the 1901 census and the name is so popular that it is very dificult to find clear information.Has anyone got any info or at least some good ideas.Hard to track her birth on bmd even.Bilston could be under Wolverhampton,Dudley or even West Brom.
