Thanks Ethel - but I really don't think it is. According to the marriage certificate - the father's name is definitely listed as Thomas.
And I'm certain that it should be Loddington, Kettering, Northants, rather than Luddington.

Hi again. Have just read some of the letters that have been added while I was doing this. I wonder if Lilla married again to a Thomas. Charles was such a lot older than her. I think you need to do some checking backwards on this. Ethel.

Charles was previously married to an Elizabeth.

Possible marriage. Charles 1861 Julty/Sept. Qtr. reg in Gainsborough. vol 7a 962 to Elizabeth Nicholson. Needs checking. There does not appear to be any children to this marriage.

Hi Sam,

Charles was 28 when he married on 9th April 1928, and his birthday was 4th December 1899.

Thomas was deceased when the marriage certificate was registered, but he is listed as a groom.

Hello everyone,

According to family 'legend', my grandfather Charles (Charlie) was born in Loddington, Northamptonshire in December 1899. His father's name was Thomas.

I have his marriage and death certificate, but have been unable to trace his birth, which should probably be registered in Kettering.

Apparently he had 12 brothers and sisters, but again, I have been unable to find them on any of the census records. I am beginning to think that Loddington records don't exist ?

Can anyone help me find his birth so that I can carry on along the family line ?
