Thanks again Nerine,

I am aware of these records and in fact have copies of the birth certificate of Joan Queenie Roberts 16 January 1929 and the death certificate of Matilda Randall 8 March 1929. Unfortunately these people are not related to me.

As I said - wits end.

Thank you Nerine and Ericthered,

I already had 3 possible George (H) Roberts in the time frame. (the other one was George Walter Roberts 3rdQtr 1909 Bristol 6a 111). I could order birth certificates to triangulate, but I thought I'd try this route and see if I could make direct contact. I've just been very lucky on my mothers side and found a Great Uncle and made direct contact with his family after 40 years...!

The one I'm REALLY after is JOAN - I had hopes that Georges' family might know what happened to her.

GEORGE (H) ROBERTS born 1907-11(?) in Bristol. I am looking for him and his descendants. This man is my Great Uncle and I think he married a "Lilian" in Bristol around 1932. I think they had a child "Christine". So I guess you could say I am also looking for Christine ROBERTS !

George H Roberts' older brother was HENRY JOHN ROBERTS b 9/4/1906 in Bristol. My Grandfather. He died in Bristol 25/2/1935 when my father John Roberts was only a year old. Henry John had married ALICE PHILLIPS at Almondsbury church in the summer of 1932.

We know that HENRY JOHN ROBERTS had a child from a previous relationship. We think the child was called JOAN and had learning difficulties. Joan (my fathers half-sister) lived with William Henry Roberts and Emily in a cottage in Stoke Bishop, Bristol.

I have come to my wits end trying to find JOAN and my Great Uncle George Roberts.

If these names ring any bells with anyone PLEASE let me know.
