hi am new to this i know my grandfather was james wood of workington area i believe he grew up near annie pit? dob approx 1916 and died 1979 ish he married annie ousby & moved to cleator moor i have no relatives in this area now with this surname can anyone help? i am after sibling / parent names.. thankyou. leanne

When did he marry ?
The certificate should give you his fathers name

Hi Leanne.
I can find only one death that seems a possibility for James Wood. 1980. April/June Qtr. Registered in Lancaster. vol 40 1650.
This index shows birth as 23.1 1916. Have not found the birth yet. If you do not have a copy of the deathy certificate and you think this one is correct, worth getting copy.
Do you have any idea when they married, as a ciopy of the marriage certificate would be more useful as this will give their ages, their Father's names and occupations, and witnesses who may be siblings. Ethel.
