Samuel Young - died 1915

Trying to find any information about my mother's cousin Samuel Young. He was born in 1897, I think in Glasgow or surrounding area. I have been told that he drowned in the River Thames in 1915 but have no more details. Could have been an accident, suicide, something to do with the war?
Have tried searching newspaper archives.com, The Times archives and also googling name and date.
Anyone any other ideas?
Thanks
Joyce

Thanks Janice & Whippet Lady

His parents were Gilbert Meikle Young and Christina Ferguson, married approximately 1877/1878 in Inveraray, Scotland.
I have tried searching Scotlandspeople but nothing there either. Wonder if this drowning was some sort of family myth?
