Find Ancestors

Hi I am trying to find out more about my GGGGrandfather John McGregor b around 1816 Glasgow? He married a Mary Graham in June 1841 in Glasgow. They had a son called James McGregor b around 1850 in Glasgow. I am not sure if John and Mary had any more children as I haven't been able to find any. James McGregor married a Mary Johnston in Glasgow in 1877 and they had a son called Thomas born around 1880 in Glasgow. Again I am not sure if James and Mary had any more children. Thomas married a Georgina Blackwood in 1904 in Glasgow and had my Grandmother Mary in 1906. Thomas and Georgina had around 6 children, one of whom I can remember as being called Jenny, again not sure of the rest. I am really hitting my head against a brick wall with the McGregors and the Blackwoods. I know that Georginas parents Charles Blackwood and Annie Corbett married in Stirling Castle Barracks as Charles was in the Army stationed there around 1870. I have been unable to trace where Charles was born. I think his father was a John Blackwood but don't know where he came from. Can anyone help please???

If you got his age from his marriage certificate, people have been know to "adjust" their ages on this certificate.

Hi to Julie, This is the first I have been back into this site for awhile and was very surprised and delighted that you had gone to so much trouble in finding information out for me. I think that there is a possibility that the McGregors you found for Camlachie looks familiar and I will be following that up. The Blackwoods as well look about right too. I think John McGregor worked for Glasgow Corporation, not sure as the writing is unclear.
