Looking at the extract it appears to show:

Milford and a ditto type mark/

The entry above says Pembrokeshire.

Milford Haven is in Pembrokeshire.

I have found him in the 1881 census on 2 different sites, they both say Milford, but one specifically says Milford Hampshire.

The marriage took place in Swansea wales, and his father Richard is listed as a blacksmith. no l haven't found any refernece to him at all so far

You havent found him before 1881? And what was his fathers occupation on the marriage cert and where did the marriage take place? Who did he marry?

I know this is a long shot( due to it being such a common name) but lm trying to find the mother's name of william Jones b 1851. I have found William in the 1881 census and it has him listed as born in Milford Hampshire. He was married in 1874 and Richard Jones is named as his father on his marriage certificate. Any help is appreciated.
