Find Ancestors

I am hoping to find someone who is related to and / or can help me find MORE information about my GGGrandfather William MITCHELL, especially exactly where he was from and his family (brothers and sisters etc) in Scotland.

I believe he was born C:1816 in Stirlingshire, Scotland.
He married Margaret Downie, daughter of John Downie of
Bonnie Bridge, Stirlingshire, Scotland, C 1840.
They had two daughters in Scotland before coming to South Australia C1845 where they had a further 9 children.
Margaret died in 1869 and William died in C1872.

I beleive his father's name was John Mitchell and his mother's maiden name to be Drysdale as this name was used several times down through the family.
When he received land in South Australia he named his property "Little Carse Farm", so this may also be a link to where he was from.

The two girls born in Scotland to William Mitchell and Margaret Downie were

had hoped to find the family in 1841 census ,but no luck perhaps someone could give you the link(or goggle)"scotlands people" .if you can find a birth index then a childs cert will give you a lot more info than an English one does.
