"The Birth for Sarah Georgina Jones 1869 was registered by a Ann Hall, who was the occupier of the address on certificate...
The strange thing is... a Ann Hall also shows up as a Niece to the Goodwins in 1871, aged 12? I was thinking that she might be Daughter of other Ann Hall?

I am wondering if the father given as John on the marriage cert is a red herring and she was actually illegitimate, maybe possibly the daughter of Sarah G Jones.

Lambeth seems as if it would be the registration district for Norwood.

Going by her age as 3 in 1891 she must have been born April qtr 1887 to June qtr 1888 allowing for the 6 weeks to register the birth, but I can't find one that fits the area.

In 1891 she was down as just a visitor with George & Sarh but neice in 1901. Doesn't make it easy being the name Jones does it?

If there is no maiden name shown on birth cert, it's very likely that Emma Jones was unmarried and just gave a father's name.

Did Emma register the birth?

You said you had obtained all birth certs, can you list which you have?

The Sarah Georgina Jones appears as a Niece in both the 1871 (age 2 & 1881 (age 11) census at the Goodwins, I have her birth certificate for 1869 and it lists father...William Jones/ mother...Emma Jones
{maiden name not known} on certificate.
My Gran Edith (Born 1887) shows up as Niece at Goodwins in 1891 and 1901 father on marriage certificate John Jones (carpenter) deceased?

The Sarah Jones you posted is with her family in 1881/1891 so isn't the same one as with the Goodwins in 1881.

Have you got this cert as Nellie is short for Eleanor, although area is not correct.

I'm trying to find info on my Gran (Edith Eleanor Jones b approx 1887 in Croydon, died in 1924) for my 87 year old father, who knows nothing about her...
I've obtained all birth certificates without success, my only link is she shows up on her own, as a Niece to a George Goodwin b 1841 Croydon and Sarah Goodwin (Collis) b 1846 Chelmsford, living in Upper Norwood, Croydon in both the 1891 and 1901 Census. On her marriage certificate in 1915 it shows Father John Jones (Carpenter) deceased... Can anyone help?
