william davies b 1808 at nantgarw nr caerphilly married louisa profser b 1803 d 1841 1 child elizabeth b 1839.william married catherine jones b 1814 at taffs well.children 2 emma b 1849 approx david b 1853.can any one help to go further back please

I don't know if this helps but I would think Louisa's name was Prosser not Profser. In old handwriting a double 's' usually looked like 'fs'
when did they marry?

Is the marriage certificate copy you have a modern translated copy or a photocopy of the original? As I said in my previous post David 'ss' was usually written as 'fs' in 19th centuary writing. Prosser is a fairly common name from S Wales.
When did they marry and where?

Hi David,
It is Prosser as Lancashire Ann says above. Old English would have written ss as fs. Prosser is a fairly common name in Glamorgan.
