I have looked at the image on 1851 and believe she is visiting Thomas WALKER + family

Can't find any family connection though!

Annn E could 'possibly' have the maiden name Stratford or Walter?

Hurahh! I chanced a £5 and actually found her in 1851 - visitng someone (can't read the name!) in Clifton, Bristol with Charles! ages are right and both were born in Greenwich. No idea what she might be doing in Bristol though!

Robert is still missing! I know census ages can be wrong but is there any reason why someone might say a child was 12 when actually they were more like 9 or 10? Was there a compulsory school age in 1851?

Thanks Christine - I did think of that but I've only got her maiden name from the childrens birth certs - no way of telling her parents names as she was born in 1820 and married in 1835. Any suggestions?

have you found the Matthews family in 1851??
I had a disappearing spouse - only to find her listed staying with her parents and as she was a daughter the emunerator had put her down in her maiden name!!

Yes, this is the family in 1851 - no Mary Ann, no Charles and no Robert -yet they are with them in 1861 - ecept that Edwards age is wrong - but I think his age has got muddled with one of the others!

This is begining to send me slightly mad! :)

In 1841 William Clark 1816, wife Mary Ann 1821 and two daughters Sarah 1838 and Maria 1841 were in Slaughter Rents, Greenwich.
In 1851 William, Sarah (Maria died 1841) and Emma 1844 and Edward 1849 are at Jubilee Court Greenwich. William says he is married but Mary Ann isn't listed.
In 1861 William, Mary Anne and children as above plus younger sons (Henry, Albert and Arthur) AND two more sons Robert and Charles both aged over 10 are in Marsh Lane, Greenwich. Edward is now shown as 15 (shd be 12), Charles is also shown as 15 and Robert is shown as 12. I've looked on BMD but there are too many Robert, Charles and Edward Clarks born in Greenwich to confirm birth dates.

I thought that maybe William had re-married someone else who also happened to be called Mary but I NOW have birth certs for Maria and one of the younger sons and both have the same mother - Mary Ann Matthews.

Can anyone help me find Mary Ann, Robert and Charles in 1851 PLEASE !

Thanks - Gai
