George and his wife Lal (maybe Alice?), lived near Crampton Street / Amelia Street and they had, I think, two sons.

I would like to locate any of George's family.

if this is the same family as your other thread, which I have a feeling it is, you're better sticking to just one thread or researchers will get confused

thanks for the pm Margaret - to have Martin as both sides of your family is what's called a "bit of a bummer" if you'll pardon the expression!!!

George MARTIN (WALWORTH, LONDON, S.E.17.)

Just to let you know, that both sides of my family are called Martin ! Yes, a real "bummer" and SO confusing when you're trying to trace family members.

Although I have two posts running here, they are both completely different sides of my family.

Just thought I'd clear that up, in case I'm confusing you all too.

Regards.

my martins were based in 11 nelson street bermondsey southwark as shown in the 1881 census. my grandfather was a george martin who married a mary ann isabella bourne. his father was another george martin who married a mary ann bourne who was a widow on or before 1881.

would welcome some replies if you have any info on the above as well as your family thread as the names sound familiar

thanks
