don't understand - you are saying Richard Jenkins at the beginning and then it becomes Richard Thompson - why would that be?

the age of sexuall consent was 12 in the 19th Century. It was quite common for girls as young as 15 to marry.
My great grandmother was only 15 when she married in 1876,she went on to have 13children and died at the age of 84yrs.You still needed your parents permission to marry up to the age of 21yrs.That is why most victorian couples put full age or 21yrs on their wedding certificate so they would not have to obtain parental permission for marriage
